Enrolment Steps

The MLC School enrolment process begins when an application for enrolment form has been completed and the application fee has been received. We encourage you to enrol your daughter as soon as possible.

STEP 1: Completed application form and application fee paid
The MLC School application form is completed online here, and must be accompanied by several supporting documents, including your daughter’s birth certificate. Entry is not academically selective.

The School accepts enrolment applications any time after birth. We recommend that you contact the Registrar in the case of applications submitted less than two (2) years before the required entry year.

Once a completed application for enrolment form and relevant fee has been received, your daughter will be placed on a waiting list. Please note we are unable to place your daughter on the list without this step being completed in full.

It is the parent's/carer's responsibility to advise the School of any changes to contact details once your daughter is on our waiting list. If the School is unable to contact you, your daughter’s place on the waiting list may be forfeited. Changes to entry year should be discussed with the Registrar as soon as possible and will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.

STEP 2: Register for a school tour
One of the best ways to confirm your choice is to come and see the School in action. When you join one of our scheduled tours you will have the opportunity to meet students, see classes in action, meet teachers and get a feel for the life of the school. Book a tour here.

STEP 3: Attend an interview
Approximately two (2) years prior to the nominated year of entry the School will invite parents and girls to attend an interview. This must take place before the offer of a place is made.

Families with girls entering the School from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6 will meet with the Head of Junior School, or their delegate. Families with girls entering the School from Year 7 to Year 11 will meet with an appropriate member of the Senior School teaching staff. The School is not obliged and does not make an offer to every girl interviewed. The School reserves the right to determine which students are offered a place at all times.

STEP 4: Complete the Enrolment Contract and payment of final enrolment fee
To accept the offer of a place, families are required to pay the Final Enrolment Fee applicable and sign an enrolment agreement (Contract) with the School. The Final Enrolment fee is due and payable ten (10) days after the offer is received.

STEP 5: Take part in the orientation program
MLC School is a welcoming and friendly place. We take care to ensure your daughter is familiar with the School by holding a range of orientation events to prepare her for MLC School. We strongly encourage all parents and students to attend these key events to ensure a smooth transition.

MLC School Old Girls

Preference for limited places is given to daughters of MLC School Old Girls and to current MLC School families, but cannot be guaranteed. Places cannot be held or guaranteed without the appropriate enrolment steps being completed. Preference can only be given where an application is made by your daughter's first birthday or at least three (3) years prior to the nominated entry level.

Conditions of Enrolment

These conditions are to be agreed to by parents/carers when they accept an offer of a place for a child at the school.

Tuition and Enrolment Fees

Separate fees are payable to enrol your daughter (Enrolment Fees) and for her regular tuition once she has been accepted into the School (Tuition Fees).

Enrolment fees are payable at various points in the enrolment process, are non-refundable and are listed below. Tuition fees are payable prior to the beginning of each term. Any withdrawal of a student requires one full term’s notice in writing to the Principal. Should the required notice period not be met, one term’s fees in lieu are payable.

All current families will find more details on tuition fee payments via Omnia.

Prospective families are encouraged to contact our Registrar with any queries about fees. The 2025 schedule of tuition fees for Australian and overseas students can be downloaded below.
