Reverend Jason Kioa

Reverend Jason Kioa, a Tongan-born Australian, is an ordained minister of the Uniting Church who has dedicated more than three decades of service across Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales.  Beginning his ministry in the synod of Victoria and Tasmania in1990, he served in a range of congregations before being elected Moderator of that Synod from 2006 to 2009. Since 2019, he has ministered at Mascot Wesley Uniting Church in Sydney. Recently, Rev Kioa has been appointed as the Presbytery Minister Team Leader for Sydney Presbytery, with his term commencing on 1 January 2026.

In addition to parish ministry, he has held significant leadership roles, including Chair of the Tongan National Conference (2001–2017), membership of the Assembly Standing Committee and numerous Synod and Presbytery committees. He currently chairs Sydney Presbytery's Pastoral Relations Committee and serves on ACOMP and the Synod Formation and Selection Committees.

Deeply connected with the Tongan and wider Pasifika community, he has presented Tongan and English radio programs for over 20 years and continues to lead daily devotions on Pasifika TV and Radio. he has also contributed to governance through service on the boards of Wesley Mission, Aitken College and Newington College Council (2020–2023). His academic qualifications include a Doctor of Ministry, Master of Ministry, Bachelor of Theology, Diploma in Public Relations, and Graduate Diploma in Spiritual Direction.
