Andrea Lam Masterclass MLC School's highly regarded Music program was on full display when acclaimed concert pianist and Old Girl Andrea Lam (1999) returned to campus to lead a special masterclass with student musicians. Held in the Music Auditorium, the masterclass gave students the rare opportunity to learn from an internationally recognised performer whose accomplished career reflects the depth of talent, discipline and creative ambition nurtured through music at MLC School. Recently appearing in the ABC television series The Piano, Andrea brought both professional expertise and a deep personal connection to the School, working closely with students and offering practical feedback, encouragement and insight into the pursuit of musical excellence. The session featured three advanced pianists – (Year 7 and Year 11) – who each performed with confidence and sensitivity. Through Andrea's guidance, students gained a greater understanding of performance technique, interpretation and the dedication required to refine their craft at the highest level. Music is a vibrant and valued part of an MLC School education, giving students opportunities to explore their creativity, develop confidence and strive for excellence in a supportive and inspiring environment. Experiences such as Andrea's masterclass bring this commitment to life, connecting students with outstanding role models and opening their eyes to the possibilities that can come from talent, hard work and a love of performance.
