The Drama Theatre
The MLC School Drama Theatre was constructed as a performing arts venue, rehearsal space, and as a flexible teaching space. The MLC School Dance, Drama, and Speech Department conduct the majority of their classes in this space.
The audience space seats close to 200 in tiered seating around a thrust stage, suitable for both traditional and experimental theatre performances.
The theatre has a soundproof sound and lighting box with lighting desk, connected to a series of complex riggings in the roof above the audience.
Underneath the Drama Theatre is a series of dressing rooms and the costume storage. The under stage interconnects to allow stage entry on either side as well as from the rear during performances. There is even a floor trap door! The side staircases in the body of the theatre are often used in performances as they lead directly down to the stage.
Large doors at the rear of the stage allow for large set design and movement.

Potts Hall
Built in 1926 Potts Hall is the official School Hall for MLC. Able to seat around 800 it has a traditional proscenium arch stage. Potts Hall is used for many rehearsals and school events It can be configured with choir risers at the front of the stage for tiered seating to a performance in the centre of the hall. As Potts Hall also has catering facilities it can be used for more Cabaret style performances.
The Amphitheatre
The amphitheatre was recently incorporated into the building of the North Wing Tower block to provide an outdoor classroom space, whether for performance or just as an alternative venue. The amphitheatre comfortably seats a full Year or House Group or several classes who may wish to get together to share their work outdoors. It is also a great venue for lunchtime concerts, and is one of the most popular places for meeting friends.

The Dance Studio
The Dance Studio is a large open double classroom space that can be used for both Dance and Drama rehearsals if the Drama Theatre is in use, as well as providing a free space for practical classroom work. This also means simultaneous rehearsals for one production are not a problem. The north wall is floor to ceiling mirrors for students to observe themselves in dance and drama rehearsal.
