Rehearsal and Performance Space

The Centenary Music Centre was purpose built as the centre for Music excellence at MLC School. The building contains the Sylvia Lew Music Auditorium in which the full school Symphony Orchestra and School Choir can be accommodated for rehearsal. The School Concert Bands also rehearse here. Evening and lunchtime recitals are held every week in the Sylvia Lew Music Auditorium.

There are three large classroom teaching spaces in the upstairs mezzanine that also accommodate chamber and ensemble rehearsals such as the Junior Orchestra - Sinfonietta, and the Stage Band and Flute Ensemble.

Throughout the building there are 11 private tuition and practice rooms.

Composition

The composition laboratory has 18 computers with software for notation and sequencing such as 'Finale' and 'Garage Band' providing a composition workshop/teaching space.

Instruments

Acknowledging the need to accommodate valuable privately owned and school owned instruments there is an instrument locker and storage room for secure storage of instruments on rehearsal and lesson days.

Instrument facilities include grand pianos, full symphony orchestra percussion section and a magnificent concert harp a recent donation for the Parents and Friends Association.
