The ChapelThe Chapel at MLC is a refurbishment of the Boarders' Dining Room after a fire in 1977 destroyed the majority of the boarding house located in the original building on the corner of Park Road and Rowley Streets. The dining room was salvaged as a one-storey building and converted into a school Chapel. The beautiful stained glass windows are the commissioned work of former student Alison Brown '78. Every House in the School attends their House Chapel Service here on Sundays throughout the year and Year group Chapel is celebrated here during the week. It is a lovely welcoming place for individual quiet reflection and is also a place where the girls can gather with friends and the Chaplains at times when they need special support.
The Community of MLC School reaches throughout history and geography to include the current students of the School and their families, ex-students, and the staff of the School. The Chaplains are here to extend pastoral care and support to those of our community during their special times of celebration and to mark significant moments of loss and grief.

The Sutherland RoomsThe Sutherland Rooms are the former living and dining rooms of the original Principal's Residence on the ground floor of the Schofield Tower. They have been refurbished recently to provide formal meeting rooms for the School. Photographic portraits of all the Heads and Principals of MLC line the walls of one of the rooms, and informal scenes from college life from the late 1800s to the 1930s are the feature of the photographs in the other. Parents gather here after welcome chapel services, the MLC Auxiliary meet here, and some reunion groups are also able to gather here and on the Principal's Lawn.
