The NSW Higher School Certificate at MLC School

The New South Wales Higher School Certificate (HSC) is a two year high school matriculation course overseen by the New South Wales Board of Studies who set the curriculum, assessment criteria and examinations which lead to attainment of a University Admissions Index.

MLC School would have one of the largest selections of HSC Courses on offer in a school in New South Wales. This, combined with our very high achievement in such a wide range of courses is why we are ranked so highly in the top schools in New South Wales and the top school in the Inner West of Sydney.

HSC Options at MLC School

The increasing range of options available for the completion of the HSC has MLC offer students Pathways and Acceleration and Vocational Education and Training Courses as options to complete their high school qualification. Each year some MLC students in Years 11 and 12 select the Pathways option of extending their HSC by more than two years to accommodate their demanding commitments in extra curricula activities or to provide, in special circumstances, flexible program delivery over a longer period of time.

Acceleration is available for those very capable students who sit an HSC course in conjunction with Preliminary courses (in Year 11) or even in Year 10.
